Idiopathic Scoliosis Treatment.
Schroth Method

It was founded in 1921 by Katharina Schroth in Germany.
In Germany the Schroth Method developed into the most recognized conservative exercise-based approach for idiopathic scoliosis treatment.

Definition

Scoliosis is a series of vertebral segments placed in extension or lordosis, which deviate an axially rotate towards the same side.

Information

Scoliosis patients need to have information about the disease so that they can develop pro-active coping strategies. Such information should include a calculation of the progression risk even when it is difficult to accurately assess the risk for immature children with scoliosis <25grades Cobb.

The Schroth Method Helps:

  • Stopping Curve Progression
  • Eliminating Pain
  • Improving posture and appearance – for lifeTreatment
  • Specific scoliosis treatment is individual and based on a standardized teaching in clinical/reasoning management. Main objectives are to detect typical scoliosis features, restore of normal postural alignment, static/dynamic postural control and stability. Other objectives of treatment are deceleration or prevention of progression in order to avoid the necessity of bracing and preventing form surgery.
Treatment also includes teaching scoliosis specific exercises and breathing techniques in accordance with the principles of Scroth posture variations which aim at enabling and encouraging patients to perform a home-exercise program and achieve postural changes in the activities of daily living.
